MIA Emergency Situations Management Department employees held large-scale search and rescue activities to find the 73-year-old German scientist went missing in Borjomi-Kharagauli national park on June 8th.
15 groups of rescuers organized by MIA Emergency Situations Management Department inspected 15 various routs of Atckuri, Borjomi, Kharagauli and Bagdati and examined Borjomi Gorge.
Hans Hoefle worked on environment protection issues and visited Georgia under the invitation of Deutsche Gesellschaft for Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). According to preliminary information expert went to Borjomi Gorge on June 7th.
On June 10th 112 Emergency Response Center received report that the expert was missing. MIA emergency management department launched search and rescue operations on the same day.
