Director of Emergency Situations Management Department –Zviad Katsashvili along with the Minister of Environment and Natural Recourses Protection- Elguja Khorkishvili has opened working meeting organized by United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR).
Meetings are held within the frames of the UN global campaign –“Capacity Building on the Local Level in the Sphere of Risk Reduction and Adaptation to the Climate Changes” and “Make Cities Sustainable” which encompasses 2217 cities. Aim of the meetings is to contribute to the enforcement of capacities in the sphere of risk reduction in towns and municipalities, elaboration and implementation of the action plan, exchange of information and experience between the towns and integration of risk reduction activities in the local programs and initiatives.
Working meetings will continue at MIA Academy till December 5 at MIA Academy with participation of MIA Emergency Situations Management Department, high officials of the UN and etc.
