On 1-2 April under the organization of the sport club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “MIA FORCE” Georgia will host season opening of the world championship in car racing-TCR International on Rustavi International car circuit.
Two days before the championship marathon supporting the event was held on Rose Square, involving TCR International race cars, vehicles of Porsche Club Georgia and motorcycles of GUARDIANS motor club. The event was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili and founder of TCR International Marcello Lotti.
“Several months ago MIA sport club and TCR International concluded an agreement according to which opening event of TCR International will be held in Georgia for the first time. I am convinced that this tournament, which is being held under the organization of MIA, will contribute to the establishment of Georgia on the sports map, will promote healthy life style and sports tourism.
I am pleased that such a high-class sportsmen, such as the TCR International-'s pilots, joined the traffic safety campaign launched by the Ministry of Internal Affair. Together, we call on the public - to protect the traffic rules, the spend adrenaline only on the car circuit, "- said George Mgebrishvili.
In parallel with the marathon, representatives of the Service Agency handed out promo materials to the attending guests and citizens, within the frames of the traffic safety campaign.
TCR International joined social campaign “For the Sake of Your Safety” last year. Member of “MIA FORCE” and official face of the social campaign Data Kajaia has placed stickers of the campaign on his car.
MIA FORCE and TCR International concluded the agreement on holding the opening event of TCR International in Georgia several months ago. According to the agreement the opening of the season of TCR International 2017 will be held in Georgia as well as some of the phases of the tournament scheduled in 2018 and 2019. TCR International championship is being held all around the world. The tournament has several million followers and is being transmitted by the leading sports channels.
