The employees of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the MIA trained the representatives of the "Red Cross" in the regions of Georgia on disaster and emergency response. Volunteer rescuers took part in the simulated training as well. They rendered the first aid to the victims and trained them in application of the special equipment.
The training course was conducted within the frames of the Memorandum executed by the Emergency Situations Management Agency and the Red Cross. The project aims at creating the groups in the municipalities staffed with volunteer rescuers for disasters response and their constant readiness for emergency situations.
Retraining of the volunteer rescuers shall be gradually implemented throughout the country in partnership with various non-governmental organizations.
