Director of Special Tasks Department of Special and Emergency Measures Center, police Major Zaza Pantsulaia met with head of U.S. Embassy’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau (INL) Tracy Newell, senior adviser in police matters of the same bureau Michael Turner, program coordinator Nino Mardaneishvili and FBI attache Damian Briko. The meeting was also attended by deputy directors of the department-Vice-colonel Vasil Revishvili, Temur Eubidze and Nana Beridze- head of Public Relations and Analysis Division of the same department.
The meeting had an introductory character. Sides discussed and positively assessed INL funded and FBI supported projects implemented in recent years aiming to develop the department and defined priorities for the future cooperation.
In 2013-2014, under the funding of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau (INL) and with the support of the attache of Federal Bureau of Investigation, a number of important activities, meetings and trainings had been organized and implemented in Georgia and outside the country as well.
In addition to the above mentioned and within the frames of the program of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau, Special Tasks Department was granted tactical equipment against the fight with crime. At the end of the meeting both sides expressed their willingness to further strengthen cooperation.
