Varlam Liparteliani, the captain of the MIA Judo Sports Club returns home victorious from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Liparteliani competed in 90 kg weight category in judo, he successfully completed the pre-final competition and won silver medal in the final.
The winning athlete was met by the Heads of the Security Police Department of the MIA, the employees of the security police, his fans and relatives in Tbilisi International Airport.
The "Rio 2016" was participated by 39 sportsmen in 13 categories. Georgian judokas have already completed their competition in Rio. The judo team was the most numerous and composed of the sportsmen of the MIA judo sports club.
The MIA judo club “MEBRDZOLI” operates since 2014 with the support of the security police. The club won twice the European champion title in 2 years.
