The MIA Archive held a presentation of the book The Occupation of Georgia, Bolshevik Interpretations (1921) related to the sovietization of Georgia. The event was held in Batumi and was dedicated to the Soviet Occupation Day.
The book collects materials concerning the sovietization of Georgia that are preserved in the MIA Archive. These are mostly diaries of the Russian militaries about the occupation of Georgia and the time they spent in this country.
Through this edition the scientists, as well as readers can learn historical background of that period. Besides, unique archival materials became accessible to people.
The event included an exhibition related to the Soviet occupation and a showing of a documentary film 1921 produced by the MIA Archive.
The presentation was attended by the representative of the MIA Academy and MIA Archive, as well as members of the government of Adjara, supreme council and other invited guests.
