Within the frames of cooperation between Archive of Ministry of Internal Affairs, Chokhatauri municipality and mediahouse “Gurianews” special event- “Restore History Together with Archive” was held at move thietre “Guria” located in Chokhatauri.
The event was attended by: rector of MIA Academy Nukri Gelashvili, MIA Archive Director Omar Tushurashvili, Head of Guria Regional Main Division Giorgi Mdinaradze, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Teona Aqubardia, heads of Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri municipalities, representatives of the non-governmental sector, local school teachers, pupils and journalists.
It is notable that Archive representatives presented fiction-documentary film “Who Assassinated Ilia” to the guests. The mentioned film has been presented in various regions of the country.
Presentation of the book “Following Archive-Chokhatauri” composed by the MIA Archive was also held at the movie theater. The martial collection includes further period of Georgia, after the sovietization, particularly how the uprising in 1924 was plotted, how soviet government fought with church and what methods were applied for holding anti-religion campaigns. Book also includes lists of executed persons and minutes of the meeting of the so called “Troika” as well as memories of revolutionaries from Guria region. It is notable that Mikheil Kakhiani’s speech (Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Georgian “Bolshevik“) on political activity and education of people of the Guria region was made public for the first time.
At the event banners composed on the basis of archive materials were also exhibited.
