The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under MIA, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, detained Akaki Kartozia for the attempted swindling.
Investigation established, that leading officer in first deputy chairman's Office of Tbilisi City Assembly Akaki Kartozia, while performing his official duties, demanded and received 6000 US Dollars from the citizen of Turkey for the assistance in getting double citizenship of Turkey and Georgia.
Law enforcers detained Akaki Kartozia in Tbilisi, when he was receiving the part of the demanded amount of money – 3000 US Dollars.
Investigation is on the fact of attempted swindling (article 19-180, part III, subparagraph “B:, which envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment). Investigation is carried out by Anti-corruption Agency under MIA.
