The officers of Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative-investigative and searching activities exposed and detained Davit Giorgadze, employee of Borjomi municipality on the fact of bribery.
Investigation established that Davit Giorgadze (with a previous consent of the group) by misusing his official powers, during fulfilling his official duties, accepted bribe in the amount of 3000 US dollars for building commercial facility without relevant permit on the land area of Borjomi municipality.
Law enforcers detained Davit Giorgadze on November 24 as an accused person. During his personal search law enforcers seized the accepted bribe as well as firearm with bullets and cartridge which was illicitly purchased by the detainee.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribery committed in group and illicit purchase keeping and carrying of firearm am ammunition, article 338, II part, sub-paragraph D and article 236 I and II parts of the Criminal Code. The committed crime envisages from 7 to 11 years of imprisonment.
Investigation is conducted by Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
