Two-day training organized by Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is being held at MIA Academy for media representatives. Before the start of the training guests were greeted by Nino Giorgobiani-Director of Public Relations Department and Nukri Gelashvili- Rector of MIA Academy.
Media seminar is aimed at raising media representatives’ awareness in police issues and providing them with comprehensive information on Master and Bachelor programs held at MIA Academy as well as on professional trainings of policemen. It is notable that seminar for journalists is being held for the first time.
Seminar includes both, theory and practical parts. Theoretical part includes presentations on the following topics: personal data as the important component of the right to privacy; the right to assembly and manifestation; Prohibition of discrimination; legal guarantees for safety of journalists; human rights and fundamental freedoms issues. During seminar practical exercises will also be held. Seminar is headed by senior inspector of Patrol Police Faculty of professional training division of MIA Academy- Ivane Khazhalia and personal data protection officer of Academy administration- Nino Saginashvili.
On the second day of the seminar journalists will be acquainted with presentation on –“Study Process at MIA Academy” which will be introduced by Nodar Saakashvili- head of Patrol Police Faculty of professional training division. Presentation includes the following topics: professional and academic studies at MIA Academy, Bachelor and Master programs, requirements for the admissions, local and international cooperation.
At the end of the presentation exhibition of the materials stored at MIA Archive will be held and participants of the seminar will have an opportunity to tour around the Academy’s infrastructure and view computer classes, library, English Language Center, mock jury court, forensic cabinet, dormitory, gym, pool, real and imitated shooting ranges.
After completion of seminar all participants will receive certificates.
