At MIA Police Academy fifteenth edition of “Archival Bulletin” and presentation of the documentary film “9 March” was held. Fifteenth edition of “Archival Bulletin” and documentary film are based on official chronicles of the events that took place on March 9, 1956. They also include stories of people who witnessed the events as well as classified cypher-telegrams sent to Security Committee in Moscow, materials depicting repressions after March 9, crime case of Konstantine Tsitsishvili from 11th grade, who was detained for active participation in events that took place in March of 1956, lists of those who died and was injured and unique photos-documentary materials.
Documentary film and “Archival Bulletin” also include events that took place in March of 1956 when national movement was formed. In that period illegal underground organization “Gorgasliani” was founded the leaders of which became Zviad Gamsakhurdia and Merab Kostava. The mentioned events were the first steps for them in becoming public figures and first stage for the national movement the aim of which was the restoration of Georgia as an independent country.
Within the frames of presentation the exhibition was also held depicting events that took place in March of 1956. Public has seen criminal cases launched by the Security Committee for the first time and original documents known as “Secret Files” stored in the archive of the party.
