The officers of Adjara main division of patrol police department as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Merab D. (Dob 1968) for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in large quantities and false reporting on crime.
Investigation established that Emergency Response Center 112 received call from citizen who informed operator about vehicle which was moving at Khimshiashvili street, Batumi and noted that driver Tariel G. kept drugs in the vehicle. Regarding the received information Patrol Police Department made operative reaction and stopped the vehicle for inspection. During the searching activities held in the vehicle the law enforcers seized one can with transparent fluid. Drug test revealed that 7,2 gr of the seized drug contains 0,133 gr of ephedrine and 0,0119 gr of morphine.
Also the law enforcers identified person who called to the Emergency Response Center 112. It appeared to be Merab D. (Dob 1968) who had conflict with Tariel G. on the ground of debt. It was revealed by the investigation that Merab D. put drug to the vehicle of Tariel G. and made a false report with purpose of personal gain.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in large quantities and false reporting on crime (article 260, II part, A sub-paragraph and article 373, III part of the Criminal Code).
