The officers of Counterterrorist Center as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained two Georgian and another two citizens of Russian Federation in Tbilisi for illegal purchase, keeping, transportation and selling of firearms. Detainees are as follows: Tamaz ts. (DoB 1966) Giorgi G. (DoB 1975) Maksherip K. (DoB 1964) and Akhmet P. (DoB 1968).
Investigation established that Tamaz Ts under the instructions of Giorgi K. legally purchased “Browning” “CZ” and “Glok” firearms in Tbilisi stores with the finances of Akhmet P. and registered them on various persons.
Investigation also ascertained that Tamaz Ts. illegally delivered firearms to Giorgi G. and his two accomplices- Maksherip K. and Akhmet P.
During the searching activities held in taxi salon law enforcers seized 25 bi=ullets, 10 magazines, Glok-17 pistols, “Grand Power” pistol and one “CZ” pistols.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping, transportation and selling of firearms, article 236, I part and III parts of the Criminal Code.
