The officers of Kakheti Police Department and Adjara Autonomous Republic Police Department, as a result of joint operative-searching and investigational measures detained in Sarpi village, Khelvachauri region Omar Ts (D.o.B.: 1989), previously convicted, wanted since May 15, this year by Gurjaani regional division for the attack on the police officers, illegal purchase-storage-carrying of a firearm and robbery.
The investigation established that on May 11, 2016 in the night Omar Ts. fired several times in the direction of the patrol-inspectors of the second unit of Liner Patrol Division, Kakheti Main Division of the Patrol Police Department, after the mentioned he illegally appropriated a civilian’s vehicle and fled from the scene. Two patrol cars were damaged as a result of firing. None of the police officers had been injured.
The law enforcers seized 17 cartridges during the examination of the scene. Police found a stolen car in the vicinity of Gurjaani cemetery.
Gurjaani District Court made decision on the arrest of Omar Ts. in absentia. Detainee has pleaded guilty.
Investigation is underway on the crimes envisaged by the I part of the article 3531, the 2nd and 3rd parts of the article 236, the sub clause “e” of the 3rd part and the sub clause “b” of the 4th part of the article 178, the Criminal Code of Georgia.
