The officers of Lagodekhi Regional Division of Kakheti Police Department of the MIA, as a result of the operative-investigative measures detained Shengeli T. (D.o.B.: 1970), Murman G. (D.o.B.: 1970) and Omar B. (D.o.B.: 1986) for resistance, threat or violence against police officers committed by a group with a prior agreement.
Immediately upon the report the law enforcers went to the place, where, according to the prior information, the offenders unlawfully cut woods. Before arrival to the mentioned place the police officers noticed “Ford-Transit” mark minivan suspiciously moving in the vicinity of the woodland in Poladaani village, Lagodekhi region.
Law enforcers stopped the vehicle in order to check it but Shengeli T., the driver insulted verbally and physically the police officer without any explanation.
By the moment of detention of Shengeli T., Murman G. and Omar B. – accompanying the offender - also engaged in the incident. All three individuals physically insulted police officer and prevented him to discharge his service duties.
Law enforcers detained Shengel T. on the place while Murman G. and Omar B. managed to flee. They were detained on the next day by the police.
The expertise established that all three individuals were under the influence of alcohol by the moment of the incident. The operative-searching measures are in progress for identification and detention of other individuals.
Police officers with the injuries underwent the forensic medical expertise.
The investigation is underway on the fact of violence against police officers which aims to interfere with the protection of public order, terminate or modify the activities of the above person, committed by a group with a prior agreement (II part of the article 353, Criminal Code of Georgia).
