The officers of Adjara Police Department as a result of the operative-searching and investigative activities detained previously multiply convicted individual, currently being the subject to suspended sentence Ruslan Ch (DoB 1974) for illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearm with the purpose of extortion of property in large quantities in Batumi.
Investigation established that the detainee threatened the victim and tried to extort 60 000 GEL as well as demanded a monthly share from the profit of his (victim’s) business.
Law enforcers seized non-registered pistol and 5 cartridges during personal search of the detainee.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of extortion of the property in large quantities and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearm (sub clauses “a” and “c” of the II part of the article 181, parts II and III of the article 236, the Criminal Code of Georgia).
