The officers of Batumi police division detained three citizens of Bulgaria for illegal using of computer information perpetrated by the group. The detainees are as follows: Khristo Kh. (DoB 1976) Iliang G. (DoB 1990) and Veronika V. (DoB 1981).
Investigation established that that in the beginning of the current month the mentioned persons illegally installed special devices, the so called “skimmers” on 5 ATMs located in Batumi in order to obtain information from credit cards. The device enabled the mentioned individuals to appropriate data from credit cards owned by citizens. By means of the mentioned method detainees illegally appropriated 1100 GEL.
As a result of operative-investigative activities law enforcers detected illegally installed devices on ATM machines and seized as evidences. Detainees have already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of stealing by the group and for illegally accessing computer data, illegal usage of computer-damaging program, forging and usage of the credit cards (articles 177, II and III parts, sub-paragraph a article 285, II part, article 284, II part, article 210, II part, sub-paragraph a of the Criminal Code.
