The officers of Ajara Regional Main Division as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Giorgi T. (DoB 1994) for the armed assault.
Investigation established that on August 5 detainee broke into “Liberty Bank” branch located in Batumi; he was wearing mask and was armed with automatic weapon. He demanded cash from bank employees. However he failed to appropriate cash and left the crime scene.
As a result of the investigative and searching activities law enforcers seized Giorgi T. in Batumi several days after the armed assault took place. Police also seized mask and the automatic weapon as evidence. Giorgi T. has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed assault, article 179, II part, sub-paragaraph A of the Criminal Code.
