The officers of Akhmeta police division along with Lagodekhi police division as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of the operative information, law enforcers detained A.O. (DoB 1962) and R.Q. (DoB 1962) for illegal purchase keeping and carrying of firearms.
During the search activities held in R.Q’s house located in Birkiani village law enforcers seized unregistered arms: hunting shot gun, combines hunting rifle and 48 bullets.
In the process of searching A.O’s vehicle in Tela village, Lagodekhi district policemen seized unregistered hunting shot gun 2 cartridge cases and 2 bullets.
According to the expertise the seized firearms and ammunition are suitable for shooting.
Both of the detainees have already pleaded guilty.
Investigation against R.Q is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase keeping of firearms, article 236, II part, while investigation against A.Q. is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase keeping and carrying of firearms, article 236 II and III parts of the Criminal Code.
