Mr. Davit Vardiashvili, the Deputy Minister if Internal Affairs, along with Mr. Mikheil Giorgadze, the Minister of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia, Mrs. Lela Chikovani, the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia and Mr. Davit Narmania, the Mayor of Tbilisi signed the Quadripartite Memorandum of Cooperation. Under this Memorandum the government undertakes to support Georgian film production process.
"Today we signed the important Quadripartite Memorandum, which will contribute to the development of Georgian cinema. The Ministry of Internal Affairs always supported the projects for development and popularization of Georgian and foreign films. We will continue to cooperate with the Ministry of Culture in this direction “- said Mr. Davit Vardiashvili, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.
The Memorandum aims to support state structures, which will enable the filmmakers to settle bureaucratic issues and use material and technical bases of state bodies in a simplified manner. As a result of the above mentioned, the support will be provided to the state-subsidized projects, as well as independent film makers. This document will also help to create a favorable environment for foreign filmmakers.
The signature of the Memorandum organized by the Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia was the initiative of the National Film Centre.
