Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Archil Talakvadze along with the Director of Information-analytical Department Shalva Enukidze met with families of Vasil Khidasheli and Aleksandre Shiukashvili, who are kept in illegal custody in Kirbali and Tsitelubani villages. MIA officials met with their family members and handed food supplies. Deputy Minister also met with Aleksandre Shiukashvili’s four little children and handed to the family members sweets and various food products and wished them happy upcoming New Year.
Vasil Khidasheli and Aleksandre Shiukashvili were illegally detained on December 20 for the so called illegal crossing of border. In connection with the mentioned EU monitoring mission was informed through the “hot line”. At this stage negotiations are in progress. Archil Talakvaddze stated to the family members of Vasil Khidasheli and Aleksandre Shiukashvili that Minister of Internal Affairs personally as well as whole agency, is actively involved in resolving the situation.
