Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Khutsishvili attended the presentation -“Explore History and Become Researcher” which is the joint project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Education and Science. The event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Lia Gigauri, Rector of MIA Academy Givi Mikanadze, Head of MIA Archive –Omar Tushurashvili, history teachers from the public schools and pupils.
At the presentation, within the frames of the project, school teachers and pupils selected themes from the blog-“Newest History”. Each of them will work individually on the selected theme with the assistance of the MIA Archive worker.
At the first stage, 5 teams will be involved in the pilot project. Each team is comprised of not more than 5 members. In the course of the contest three finalists will be revealed, each team will be awarded with gifts, while three winner teams will receive special prizes. The best work will be published in the MIA Archive journal-“Archival Bulletin”.
The project is aimed to get not only the researchers, but also youth interested in materials on the newest history of Georgia, which is available for the public. The project is also aimed at developing special skills while working on the source, research skills and critical thinking necessary for students and pupils.
