Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Mr. Vakhtang Gomelauri held a meeting with the Director of The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Europe and Asian office Mr. Leslie Viger and Deputy Chief of the Mission Mr. Nicholas Berliner. During the meeting parties discussed several areas of cooperation, joint implemented projects and progress achieved. Sides discussed future cooperation as well. The Minister stressed the importance of US support and INL role in terms of MIA capacity development.
The meeting was attended by the high officials of MIA and INL office in Georgia. The ministry had been cooperating with INL office for several years. During the cooperation numerous projects had been accomplished between two sides on issues of trafficking in human beings, domestic violence, fight against illicit drugs, development of K9 unit, etc.
