A novel European-type “H145” helicopter has been handed over to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the purpose of conducting Search and Rescue Operations. This is the second of the “H145” helicopters that the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has procured from “Airbus Helicopters”. The transfer of the helicopter occurred in the manufacturing facility of “Airbus Helicopters” located in Germany.
The helicopter is equipped with fighting and rescue equipment and is exceptionally well suited for operating at high-altitudes.
It should further be noted that the transportation of the new, European-type "H 145" helicopter to Georgia was carried out by a Georgian crew, thoroughly trained at the "Airbus Helicopters" training academy.
On December 19, 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs signed a contract with the French company "Airbus Helicopters" regarding the purchase of three "H145" helicopters. The delivery of the third “H145” helicopter to Georgia is planned to be conducted till June.
