Officers of the General Inspection under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 8 persons as a result of complex operative-search and investigative activities, for theft with prior agreement committed by the group. There are two employees of Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs among detainees.
The committed crime envisions from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the defendants were stealing petrol in large amounts from cisterns of one of the companies located in the railway park by means of specially installed pump.
Law enforcers, as a result of the search activities, seized approximately one and half ton of stolen fuel placed in 87 20-liter canisters. 127 empty 20-liter canisters have also been seized by law enforcers.
Investigation is in progress under article 177, III part, sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia which implies theft with prior agreement committed by the group.
