On October 19, at 19:00 pm protest rally was held under the organization of non-governmental organization -“Free Zone” in front of Prime Minister’s place of residence. The protest rally was held by violating the article V of the law on “Public assemblies and manifestations”. Patrol Police inspectors, who were at the place, called on the rally participants to clear the road and act in accordance with the law. Rally participants ignored legal demands of the police, acted aggressively and verbally assaulted police officers as well as by passers. In the moment of foiling the minor hooliganism, police was offered resistance from the side of protesters, owning to which five rally participants were detained under the article 166 (minor hooliganism) and article 173 (ignoring legal demands of police) envisaged by the Code of Administrative Offences. It should be underlined Journalist of “Tabula” TV company Aleksandre Giorgadze (detained under the articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offences) has covertly took out the portable radio transceiver from the pocket of the police officer in the line of duty aiming to hinder fulfillment of his duties. As for the advocate Romeo Sajaia, he was detained for minor hooliganism, article 166. In addition to the above mentioned, one of the rally participants Levan Kvaratskhelia was detained for Resistance, through violence against Protector of Public Order, under the article 353, I part of the Criminal Code.
