As is known to the public today, a protest rally is planned to be held at the Tbilisi exit.
The participants of the rally are gathering at several locations and plan to gather at the Tbilisi exit.
In order to maintain public safety and public order, representatives of the relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are mobilized at each location.
Law enforcement officers will ensure that the rally takes place in a peaceful environment, within the limits established by law, in order to prevent illegal actions.
As is known to the public, participants of the rally are planning to block a highway of international importance.
We would like to remind the participants and organizers of the demonstration once again that according to the Resolution No. 361 of the Government of Georgia of October 23, 2024 “On Approval of the List of Objects of Strategic and/or Special Importance”, international roads are objects of strategic and/or special importance.
In accordance with Article 222 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, blocking an object of strategic or special importance is a punishable act, providing imprisonment for a term of up to 2 years, and committing the above-mentioned act in a group envisions deprivation of liberty for a term of 2 to 4 years.
We call on the organizers and participants of the demonstration to express their protest within the limits established by law. Otherwise, the police will act in accordingly.
