Employees of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of investigative actions conducted on the basis of operational information, detained D.K. (DoB 1961) in Tbilisi, who is accused of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
The committed crime envisions from 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.
Law enforcement officers, during the personal search of the detainee, seized a "Browning" pistol, a magazine and 1 cartridge as evidence.
As a result of the search carried out on the basis of the operative information in the residential place of the accused person in Tbilisi, the following firearms and ammunition were seized by police: a hand-made pistol, the the so-called "Abrezi" – riffle with cut barrel, combat rifle, "Winchester" type firearm, machine gun detail, 6 hunting rifles, 7 different types of hand grenades, 2 magazines of automatic firearms, 8 explosive fuses and 2 detonators, 1380 cartridges for different types of firearms.
The investigation into the facts of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition is being conducted under article 236, III and IV parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
