The employees of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions, detained one person - S.J. (DoB 2006), for attacking police officers.
The committed crime envisions up to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused person, who was armed with a knife, attacked an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on November 30 of the current year, during the rally, on Rustaveli Avenue, with an intent of wounding him.
As a result of the conducted investigative actions, law enforcement officers arrested S.J. in Tbilisi.
The incident is being investigated under the first part of Article 353 of the Criminal Code.
In the Ministry of Internal Affairs, within the framework of the current protests, all criminal acts committed by violent groups are being investigated under articles 187 and 353 (1) of the Criminal Code od Georgia, within the frames of which 7 persons have been arrested at the moment. Herewith, 7 persons are arrested under Articles 225 and 239 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, for organizing, leading or participating in group violence and publicly calling for violent actions, while another person is arrested for preparing an explosion.
