The officers of Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative search and investigative activities, detained five persons for illegal purchase, keeping and selling drugs. The detainees are as follows: N.K. (DoB 1972), Sh.I. (DoB 1975) several times convicted in past M.K. (DoB 1980), Z.B. (DoB 1989) and G.T. (DoB 1985).
Committed crime envisages from 20 to lifetime imprisonment.
As a result of the search activities police seized various types of drug substances: 10 packages of “heroin” and 33 pills of methadone drug.
Based on the relevant decision of the court, law enforcers have several times covertly purchased drugs from the mentioned persons which has also been covertly depicted on camera. Police has also seized heroin as evidence sold by the detainees.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and selling drugs in especially large quantities, article 260, I, III, IV and VI parts envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
