The employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation into the facts of the cyberattack on the websites of various government agencies, in particular the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Parliament of Georgia, in accordance with Article 286, Part IV of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to a computer data breach committed against a critical information system, and/or involves tampering with a computer system.
Within the framework of the mentioned investigation, investigative actions were conducted and are still in progress in Tbilisi and Batumi. In one of the residential apartments located on I. Abashidze street #22, Tbilisi law enforcement officers seized illegal firearms and ammunition as a result of the search. The law enforcement officers detained U.A. for the crime envisioned under the article 236, referring to illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition.
The investigation is in progress under Article 286, Part IV and Article 236, Part III of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to tampering with computer data or computer system committed against the subject of a critical information system and illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition.
