Ministry of Internal Affairs to host citizens in Poti for May 26 celebrations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs will host citizens in Poti as part of the celebrations dedicated to Georgia's Independence Day.

The event, organized by the government administration, will begin tomorrow at 12:00 in the central square.

The population will have the opportunity to view historical installations created on the theme of Georgia's Independence Day, various structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will present exhibition and information stands, special gear and equipment.

Visitors to the site will have the opportunity to view the new helicopter of the Border Police.

A concert will be held on May 26, and a space for food and handicrafts from local entrepreneurs will also be arranged.

Within the framework of the event, a number of informational and cognitive activities are planned for children, and entertainment spaces will be arranged as well:

- The Public Safety Management Center - "112" will offer teenagers to participate in games specially created for them, from which they will learn how to behave in emergency situations, and citizens who come to the event will also have the opportunity to listen to real calls received by "112" at the "Life Call" stand;

- The Patrol Police Department will present the concept of "Smart City". Department employees will help guests who arrive at the site to perform various fun activities and provide information about road safety. Before entering the city, children will pass through the passport control zone, where they will be given a commemorative passport;

- The service agency has presented fun and educational activities for all age groups, such as a simulated bicycle race, after which children will be symbolically awarded a bicycle driving license and awarded on a pedestal. A historical corner will also be presented, where guests will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the visuals of driving licenses, vehicle registration certificates, license plates issued in Georgia in different periods and the stages of their development.

- The Forensic – criminalistics Department will arrange a simulated crime scene, where children will learn, with the help of mentor experts, how to examine a crime scene using special tools. A chemical show will also be organized;

- The Border Police will be represented with both coastal and land special gear and equipment, as well as historical photo stands;

- The Security Police will host children in a simulated safe house, where fun drawing and sculpting lessons will be held. With the help of mentors, teenagers will put on police equipment and play the role of a police officer;

The Emergency Management Service will install a “sniffing wall” for children;

- The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will present a virtual shooting range and uniforms of various units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

At 17:10, exactly at the time when Noe Zhordania declared Georgia’s independence in 1918, the Georgian national anthem will be played.
