The Minister of Internal Affairs - Vakhtang Gomelauri and the Chairman of the Central Election Commission - Giorgi Kalandarishvili, signed a memorandum of cooperation to ensure the conduction of parliamentary elections on October 26, 2024 in a peaceful and safe environment.
According to the memorandum, there will be a coordinated exchange of information between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the CEC within the frames of the existing mandate.
The document defined the forms of cooperation between the parties during the election period and the relevant legal framework.
In addition to the mentioned, the memorandum envisages joint trainings with the participation of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the representatives of CEC, as well as the organization of work meetings.
In order to ensure the maximum protection of security of the election process, a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Election Commission has been concluded for the last few years in connection with all elections to ensure the coordinated work process.
