The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze held an introductory meeting with the Head of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) - Junji Wakui. The meeting was also attended by the Head of Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Temur Mghebrishvili.
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze congratulated the representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on his new position and wished him success in his future endeavors.
The parties talked about the close and fruitful relations between Georgia and Japan and discussed the issue of further strengthening law enforcement cooperation.
Within the framework of the meeting, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze thanked the head of Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA) for the contribution of Japanese side to the capacity building of the Ministry. In this regard, the parties highlighted the successful projects implemented by the Japanese side to support the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, within the frames of which the representatives of the Ministry received training in the field of disaster risk reduction and cybercrime prevention.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope that through joint efforts, the existing successful cooperation will become even more intense in the future.
