The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Mr. Aleksandre Darakhvelidze held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Director of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Georgia Mrs. Jamie Shufflebarger.
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze congratulated Jamie Shufflebarger on her appointment to the position and wished her success in her future endeavours.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed the activities planned within the framework of ongoing projects implemented in Georgia by the Department of State (DoS) Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
At the end of the meeting, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze thanked the Director of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Jamie Shufflebarger for their contribution to the capacity building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs over the years, and expressed hope that the existing successful cooperation between the parties will be further deepened through joint efforts.
The Embassy of the United States of America and the U.S. Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs have been cooperating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for many years in the areas of traffic safety, cybercrime, domestic violence, trafficking, tactical training, juvenile crime prevention and other important areas.
