Within the framework of pre-election visit the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Darakhvelidze hosted delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
In the course of the meeting parties discussed current events, especially the upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia. The Deputy Minister provided the mission with detailed information about all the activities planned by the MIA in order to ensure free, democratic and secured conduct of the elections.
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze also covered ongoing and planned reforms and projects which aim to retrain police officers to help them effectively carry out their responsibilities during elections.
Within the framework of the visit, the members of the Parliamentary Assembly delegation of the Council of Europe are holding meetings with the representatives of the legislative and executive bodies of Georgia.
