Mr. Aleksandre Tchikaidze, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia held a meeting with the members of the pre-election assessment mission of the National-Democratin Institute (NDI). The meeting was attended by: Mr. Robert Adams, international elections and democratization expert, Mr. Per Eklund, EU former Ambassador and former Head of Delegation, Mr. Sam Gejdenson, former member of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Laura Jevet, Regional Director for Eurasia Programs of the NDI and Mr. Luis Navarro, NDI`s Director in Georgia. At the meeting the parties discussed the issues of self-government election preparation process and election environment in Georgia. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia emphasized that the “Instruction for the Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia during Election Period” is updated and approved. The mentioned document reflects all legislative amendments made during the last period and regulates rights and obligations of the police officers during the elections.
