Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze is in Dariali gorge at the moment. Due to the bad weather conditions and heavy rain the process of opening Dariali border checkpoint was hindered. At this moment clearing works are underway.
According to Aleksandre Tchikaidze-” Heavy rains caused mudflow. At this stage certain problems have already been eradicated. Special activities are underway and in the nearest future all problems connected with mentioned situation will be solved which will enable us to re-open border checkpoint. In vicinities of Mkinvartsveri our employees area stationed as well as the relevant technic allowing us to know about the upcoming natural disaster. In case of repeated mudflow or landslide we will make prompt reaction”.
