As a result of cooperation between Georgian and Belgian Bureaus of Interpol, Viktor Tchelidze (DoB 1968) was detained. The mentioned person was the deputy commander general of military-maritime forces which was located in Poti in the field of logistics and infrastructure during 200-2005. In the mentioned period he repeatedly exceeded his official powers and sold property of the state.
Viktor Tchelidze was found guilty in: misappropriation and embezzlement, misuse of the official authority, service fraud, deliberately damaging of the military property, and violation of storing military property.
Viktor Tchelidze will be extradited to Georgia on January 21th.
