On Universal Children’s Day June 1, awarding ceremony of the children was held within the frames of –“112 Hero” at 112 Department. 4 adolescents were names as heroes while 16 others received certificates of appreciation.
Lithuania's Minister of Interior, Eimutis Misiunasis, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Merab Malania and Giorgi Bichashvili- Director of "112" awarded those children who were chosen under the project “112 heroes”. The mentioned children showed enough consciousness in the most difficult and decisive moments and made a call on the emergency number.
With the title of "Hero of 112" the following children were awarded: Luka Tskhvedadze (Tbilisi), Giorgi Askilashvili (Rustavi), Giorgi Gozalishvili (Gori) and Mariam Chkhaidze (Tbilisi).
9-year-old Luka Tskhvedadze called 112 emergency service to help his younger brother, 2 year old Gabriel. While the adults tried to help Gabriel with their own efforts, the best decision was taken by Luka. The boy did not hesitate to call 112, quickly provided the operator with all necessary information and called the emergency brigade. Today, thanks to Luka, his little brother Gabriel is sin good health condition.
9-year-old Giorgi Askilashvili also called 112 emergency service to help his brother. His younger brother got injured during while playing and needed urgent medical assistance. Giorgi immediately dialed 112 emergency service, cooperated with the operator in accordance with all rules and called the ambulance.
13-year-old Giorgi Gozalishvili showed high civil responsibility. He helped elderly woman lost in the streets of Gori. Giorgi contacted "112" and provided the operator with the necessary information about the missing elderly woman. The boy did not leave the woman till the police arrived at the place.
11-year-old Mariam was alone at home when she when her health deteriorated due to high fever. She informed her parents about the situation, and while they returned home, she made the right decision and called 112 emergency service. The girl informed the operator about her condition and symptoms and waited for the ambulance to arrive.
After the awarding ceremony, the adolescents were shown around 112 emergency center along with "112" future operators and met those operators who assisted them in the most difficult moment.
112 center is implementing 112 hero project from 2016 under the initiative of the Minister of Internal Affairs. Within the frames of the project, each year on June 1 all those children are awarded, who are aware of the emergency number and what to do in the emergency situation.
Project "Hero of 112" is being implemented by the initiative of Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili since 2016. Within the framework of the project, June 1 of every year, all teenagers are well aware of how to behave in urgent cases.
