Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Mghebrishvili held a meeting with his Bulgarian colleague and Deputy Prime Minister Rumiana Bachvarova.
In the yard of the Ministry Rumiana Bachvarova laid a wreath on the memorial of the police officers fallen in the line of duty.
Parties have signed the Agreement between Georgia and the Republic of Bulgaria on Cooperation in the Field of Protection from Disasters. The Agreement envisages development of bilateral cooperation in the field of management of emergency situations and establishes legal framework for its implementation.
Giorgi Mghebrishvili informed guests about competences of the Ministry and the accomplished and ongoing reforms towards European integration. The parties emphasized the importance of mutual efforts to successfully tackle organized crime and expressed mutual willingness to enhance cooperation in the field of combatting transnational organized crime though establishing working groups, sharing best practices and capacity building.
The parties expressed their hope that their cooperation in law enforcement will further develop in the future.
