Statistic Data on the Visitors Crossed the Border of Georgia

The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:

The number of visitors in April, 2014 amounted to 390 685, more by 7,1% than the index of the same period in 2013.

As for January-April period, the number of visits to the country amounted to 1 396 952 - more by 7,4 % than the index of the same period in 2013.

According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific weight is the following:

a) Tourist - 519 482 visits (37,2% of general number; increase by 12,1% in comparison with the same index of the last year);

b) Transit - 267 684 visits (19,1% of general number, increase by 28% in comparison with the same index of the last year);

c) Other - 609 786 visits (43,7% of general number, reduction by -3% in comparison with the same index of the last year).

The most of the visits in April, 2014 was paid again from Turkey (-14,6%), Azerbaijan (+14,1%), Armenia (+12,4%), Russia (+41,3%) and Ukraine (+22,2%). Also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in January-April the following countries traditionally take the leading position: Poland, Lithuania, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands and Germany (relevantly - 101%, 65%, 28%, 18%, 16% an 14%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (21%), among the countries of Middle East: Israel - 34%, among the countries of Eastern Europe – citizens of Belarus and Moldova with 50% and 19% increase.
