Statistic data on the number of visitors entering Georgia (February, 2015)


The Informational Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in February, 2015 amounted to 290 929, less by - 1% than the index of the same period in 2014. As for the January-February period, 600 396 visits have been registered, which is less by 2% in comparison with the same period of 2014.

According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:

A) Tourist -212 668 visits (35 %, of general number; less by -7,8 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);

B) Transit –115 653 visits (19,3% of general number, increase by + 14,6 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);

C) Other -272 075 visits (45,3 % of general number decrease by -3,5% in comparison with the same index of the last year).

The most of the visits in February, 2015 was paid again from Turkey (-10%), Azerbaijan (+8.5%), Armenia (+8.8%), Russia (-7%) and Ukraine (-14%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in February the following countries took the leading position traditionally: Lithuania and Germany, Bulgaria, Great Britain and Italy (relevantly126%, 12%, 12%, 11% and10%)). Central Asian countries –Uzbekistan (67%) and Kazakhstan (20%), among the countries of Eastern Europe: citizens of Belarus with +43% and Moldova with +21%.
