The Informational Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in March, 2015 amounted to 385 970, less by – 2,2% than the index of the same period in 2014. As for the January-March period, 986 366 visits have been registered, which is less by 2% in comparison with the same period of 2014.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
A) Tourist -348 770 visits (35,4 %, of general number; less by -7,4 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
B) Transit –203 841 visits (20,6% of general number, increase by + 15,3 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
C) Other -433 755 visits (44 % of general number decrease by -5% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in March, 2015 was paid again from Turkey (-6%), Azerbaijan (+0,3%), Armenia (-0,6%), Russia (-0,3%) and Ukraine (-12%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in March the following countries took the leading position traditionally: Lithuania and Germany, Great Britain and Italy (relevantly136%, 64%, 14% and 12%) Central Asian countries –Uzbekistan (95%) and Kazakhstan (29%), among the countries of Eastern Europe: citizens of Belarus with +39% and Moldova with +19%.
