The Information-Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular: The number of visitors in July, 2015 amounted to 737 696 – more by 9,5 % than the index of the same period in 2014. According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a) Tourist - 336 664 visits (45, 6%, of general number, increase by 2, 2% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit –182 693 visits (24, 8% of general number, increase by 24,7% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other - 218 339 visits (29, 6%, of general number, increase by 10, 4% in comparison by the same index of the last year);
As for January-July period the number of visits to the country amounted to 3 069 999 – more by 4, 9% than the index of the same period in 2014.
The most of the visits in July 2015 was paid again from Turkey (+12%), Azerbaijan (+7, 9%), Armenia (+11, 9%), Russia (+6, 6%) and Ukraine (+0, 6%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-July period the following countries traditionally took the leading position: Lithuania, , Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain Latvia and Netherlands (relevantly 23%, 23%, 15%, 15%, 15% and 15%). Central Asia countries –Kazakhstan (32%). Number of arrivals to Georgia from Eastern European countries is the following: Belarus (48%) and Moldova (32%). Central Asian countries – United Arab Emirates increase by 768% and Saudi Arabia (137% increase). Increase of visits from the USA (by 12%) is also worth noting15% increase from USA is also worth noting.
