The Informational Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in January, 2015 amounted to 309 467, less by - 3% than the index of the same period in 2014. According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a)Tourist -111 633 visits (36 %, of general number; decrease by -9 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit –58 028 visits (18,8 % of general number, increase by + 9 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other -139 817 visits (45,2 % of general number decrease by -3% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in January, 2015 was paid again from Turkey (-12%), Azerbaijan (+12%), Armenia (-2%), Russia (-6%) and Ukraine (-10%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January the following countries traditionally took the leading positiosn: Lithuania and Germany (relevantly164% and 12%). Central Asian countries – Turkmenia (132%), Usbekistan (20%) and Kazakhstan (16%), among the countries of Eastern Europe: citizens of Belarus with +53% and Moldova with +43%.
