The Information-Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular: The number of visitors in August, 2015 amounted to 852 377 – more by 10 % than the index of the same period in 2014. According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a) Tourist - 383 619 visits (45,%, of general number, increase by 2, % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit –383 619 visits (26, 4% of general number, increase by 54% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other - 243 765 visits (28, 6%, of general number, increase by -3,5% in comparison by the same index of the last year);
As for January-August period the number of visits to the country amounted to 3 922 376 – more by 6% than the index of the same period in 2014.
The most of the visits in August 2015 was paid again from Turkey (-10%), Azerbaijan (+7, 9%), Armenia (+24,7%), Russia (23%%) and Ukraine (+5, 6%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-August period the following countries traditionally took the leading position: Lithuania, Czech Republic, Latvia Germany, Italy, Great Britain and Netherlands (relevantly 21%, 20%, 14%, 12%, 10%, 10% და 10%). Middle Asia countries –Kazakhstan (36%). Number of arrivals to Georgia from Eastern European countries is the following: Belarus (54%) and Moldova (35%). Asian countries – United Arab Emirates increase by 766% and Saudi Arabia (75% increase). 10% increase from USA is also worth noting.
