The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in September, 2014 amounted to 501 761 less by -2% % than the index of the same period in 2013.
As for January-September period, the number of visits to the country amounted to 4 187 595 - more by 2 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a) Tourist - 1 760 748 visits (42%, of general number; increase by 10% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 827 805 visits (19,8% of general number, decrease by -8% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other - 1 599 042 visits (38,2% of general number increase by -0,4% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in September, 2014 was paid again from Turkey (-6%), Azerbaijan (+13,8%), Armenia (+2%), Russia (+0,05%) and Ukraine (+1,3%). Also, positive tendency is preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-September period the following countries traditionally took the leading positiosn: Lithuania, Poland, Latvia Netherlands (relevantly - 81%, 36%, 23%, 12%). Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (38%), among the countries of Eastern Europe: citizens of Belarus with 49%.
