The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in July, 2014 amounted to 670 256, more by 9,2 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
As for January-July period, the number of visits to the country amounted to 2 913 618 - more by 4 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific weight is the following:
a) Tourist - 1 191 815 visits (41% of general number; increase by 11% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit - 552 556 visits (19% of general number, decrease by -4% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other - 1 169 247 visits (40% of general number increase by -0,7% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in April, 2014 was paid again from Turkey (-3%), Azerbaijan (+35%), Armenia (-2%), Russia (+13,3%) and Ukraine (+32,6%). Also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in January-July the following countries traditionally take the leading position: Lithuania, Poland, Austria, Latvia and Italy (relevantly - 88%, 47%, 17%, 17%, and 13%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (39%), among the countries of Easter Europe: citizens of Belarus with increase by 57%.
